Heart of kent hospice refurbishment

August 2009

RAP commenced work on the Heart of Kent Hospice on the 29th June 2009. The project ran for 5 weeks and was a huge success.

Amongst the work done RAP installed new carpets, redecorated the walls with an added accent colour to the top of the walls, they removed all existing lighting and installed bulkhead and high level lighting in replacement. Some of the windows were removed and existing window frames were re-cladded and some were replaced with uPVC. Older doors were replaced with new, including fire escape doors. The entire ceiling was also re-decorated. RAP also performed some minor electrical works.

All projects come with their challenges and this one was no exception. The whole refurbishment had to be done with the Hospice still in operation which equated to a 5 week project. Because of this, it had to be done in phases; working in sections protected for public to ensure on site health & safety regulations were adhered to. RAP having their own H & S appointed Manager were complimented on how they handled the situation.
